I'm trying to add a schema to an open InDesign document using JavaScript, so that in the document's XMP File Information panel the new schema is shown in the Property Tree panel. I've read through the ESTK's 'JavaScript Tools Guide', Googled around and looked through this forum, but haven't found anything.
There's a blog post by Marian Tompa which mentions that it's not possible to add a schema directly, and that it should be done by writing some XML to a disk file and appending the contents to the InDesign document's XMP info. That struck me as strange, but as I said, I've not found anything to suggest that it's possible. That you can't add a schema/namespace in the interface may suggest that it's indeed not possible.
