I would like to do as the original poster required, but I cannot locate the directory indicated where the XML file should be placed.
I am on Windows 10 with Bridge CC 2019
Can you point me to the correct place (including any necessary sub-directories which should exist) and say exactly what files are required to be placed there.
To be clear: I wish to extend the Metadata Panel with a new group of fields (hiding the existing standard fields), with the UI widgets to match the data types. The aim is to have a simple workflow for content managers where they focus on checking and updating custom metadata fields, without being distracted/confused by LOTS of fields.
I know how to use the sample from the XMP UI SDK to make this happen in the FileInfo window, but that just gives plain text edit boxes in the Metadata Panel.
[as a side note, there seems to be some inconsistency between the Metadata Panel and FileInfo: whereas modifying Preferences > Metadata controls which metadata fields appear in the Metadata Panel, these preferences ARE NOT respected in the FileInfo window. Conversely, the Metadata Panel does not appear to use the correct widgets when the XML Metadata UI SDK samples are copied into C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\XMP\Metadata Extensions]
Cheers, and TIA, Adam
